How do you prepare for motherhood?

The truth is — you can’t. Every baby and every journey is completely unique.

When you’re exhausted, even knowing where to turn can feel overwhelming.

Frequent night wakings?
Short naps?
Long bedtimes?
Early rising?
A baby who just won’t settle?

I’ve learned — both as a mum and as a Certified Level 6 Holistic Sleep Coach — that better sleep doesn’t come from changing your child.

It comes from understanding them.

I provide gentle, individualised sleep support that honours connection and emotional wellbeing — helping you build sustainable sleep without leaving your child to cry alone.

Because sleep should feel safe. For everyone.

Sleep doesn’t need tears to work.
Children need safety, connection, and support — not to be left alone.

Cry-It-Out Method

  • Focuses on behaviour over emotional needs

  • Involves leaving a child to cry for increasing periods

  • Aims for quick results, often at the cost of distress

  • Teaches a child to stop signalling, not necessarily to feel safe

  • Can feel overwhelming for parents who value connection

  • Parents are told crying is “normal” or must be pushed through

Holistic Sleep Method

  • Focuses on the whole child — nervous system, emotions, development

  • Prioritises connection, safety, and regulation

  • No leaving children to cry it out

  • Builds sleep skills gradually and sustainably

  • Supports parents as much as children

  • Respects temperament, attachment, and family values

My hardest season of motherhood became my purpose.

Hi, I’m Heather — mum of two beautiful, strong-willed little humans. We live on the Northern Beaches in NSW with my husband and our fur baby, Hank. I run on fresh air, movement… and coffee.

My journey into motherhood wasn’t smooth by any means. There were seasons of exhaustion, second-guessing myself, and wondering if I was doing any of it “right.” Sleep felt overwhelming, confusing, and at times completely defeating.

But it was also the beginning of something powerful — learning to trust my instincts, to understand my children deeply, and to discover that sleep support doesn’t have to mean tears or disconnection.

Now I help other tired mums and dads find calm, confidence, and rest — in a way that feels aligned with their parenting and their child.

Some nice words

“No pressure, no crying it out, no guilt. Just support, reassurance and a plan that actually made sense. We’re sleeping again and feeling way more confident as parents.”
NAOMI, WARRIEWOOD
“I loved how normal and supported the whole process felt. There was never a ‘one size fits all’ approach — it was really tailored to our girl and what we were comfortable with. Sleep improved without tears and the whole house feels calmer now, even the dog is happier.”
JACKIE, MONA VALE
